Middle Ground
It's official, I have a blog.
I don't know this to be a fact but it might be true. Mari and I now hold the distinction of being barred from singing at a mall during Christmas for having the word Jesus in our songs (Yes, at Christmas) and now we have been barred from singing by a church for singing songs not about Jesus. That leaves a very narrow path if you want to please both sides. The quest has just begun for this Middle Ground, that is, a way for these extremes to come together using music as a bridge. As a nation we have lost the Middle Ground and are self-polarizing to the extent that all conversation and cooperation has become so difficult that many have given up. I am often one of those who is so frustrated by the walls being built and reinforced. My ability to listen has been compromised. I want to engage in meaningful dialogue but mostly I find that everyone is entrenched in positions whether or not those positions are based in fact. I am not immune.
